Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.

Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of ISLAND GYMNASTICS's staff members:

Sharon Stritehoff  (Director)  Sharon Stritehoff has numerous credentials and accomplishments. We will be updating this section shortly to detail them.

Sharon Stritehoff  (Director, coach) Sharon Stritehoff combines her 10 years of competition experience with over 20 years of teaching experience and College teacher training to address the individual needs of every gymnast. Sharon competed with the Docksiders in the late 1970's and early 80's. She competed at what was them known as the "Advanced level". She competed for Broadneck High Schools Varsity Gymnastics in 1985 and 1986 where she was named All county MVP. She began coaching at Queen Annes County Parks & Rec. in 1984, and returned in 1988 coaching for Docksiders for a short time. She coached at Kaleidoscope Gymnastics in Severna Park for 4 years until they closed in 1994. She opened Island Gymnastics in 1995 and began a competitive team in 1997. She attended Towson States teaching program for Physical Education and holds a Junior standing. She is Safety certified, a Skill certifier, and a Professional Member of USA Gymnastics. She also has training in sports injuries, first aid, and CPR.
